Symposium
2010 Symposium
Dates: May 6-8
What is Symposium? This year’s symposium focused on race relations in the media and provided students an opportunity to interact with professionals in film and television from across the country. Based on the premise that film and television have the potential to cause social change by reaching broad and diverse audiences, the Symposium provided interdisciplinary engagement in understanding social issue media; examining issues of media ethics, representation, and responsibility; and building connections between students and experts interested in combining media with social change.
